Dr. Swaminathan earned her BS in Physical Therapy in 2000 from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India. In 2003, she graduated with her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy with honors in 2017 from Nova South Eastern University, Fort Lauderdale. After years of experience in acute care, inpatient rehab and skilled nursing facilities, she followed her passion of patient care into women’s health with a focus on pelvic and abdominal conditions.
Dr. Swaminathan continues to grow and learn in this specialty by her ongoing mentoring and continuing education courses with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute and Barral Institute for Visceral Manipulation. She also recently received her Certificate in Pelvic Rehab Practitioner (PRPC), an exam conducted by Herman and Wallace that distinguishes providers as an expert in the field in pelvic rehabilitation. Her skill sets include visceral manipulation, myofascial release and internal vaginal & rectal releases. Her approach to treatment care is unique, providing patient-centric, evidence-based, integrative care. When not working, you will find Dr. Swaminathan pursuing new skills to enhance her professional toolbox, running, doing yoga and spending time with her husband and son. Her dream is to take the power of knowledge of women’s health in physical therapy and educate not only the physical therapy providers in India, but also treat rural women in her hometown of Mysore, India, who have limited access to women’s care especially the post-partum and post-menopause population.
