​Maureen Sheetz, MS, APRN, WHNP-BC

Maureen Sheetz is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and ASSECT-certified Sexuality Counselor. She has worked in the Northwestern Medicine Women’s Integrated Pelvic Health program with the Urogynecology practice since 2010. Maureen received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Marquette University and her Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She obtained a Certificate in Sexuality Counseling from the University of Michigan Sexual Health Program.
 
Maureen’s expertise includes management of non-surgical options to address women’s pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pre-operative and post-operative care, recurrent urinary tract infections and pain with intercourse. 

Treatment modalities include:

• Pessary fittings and subsequent pessary checks
• Biofeedback / Estim treatments
• Pelvic floor physical therapy follow-up care
• Trigger point injections in conjunction with pelvic floor physical therapy
• Medications management for overactive bladder
• Following and treating urine cultures in women with recurrent UTIs
• Teaching vaginal dilating and monitoring success
• Vulvar skin disease follow-up care
• Sexual medicine for women with concerns/dysfunction

​Maureen’s prior work history includes 16 years as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Prentice Women's Hospital of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
