Laurie Gauthier, PT, DPT
Laurie Gauthier graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Movement Sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2009. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rosalind Franklin University in 2012. While working in an outpatient orthopedic setting, she realized there was a large gap in care that existed for postpartum patients, pregnant patients, and others who were dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction in addition to their orthopedic conditions and she wanted to be able to provide more thorough care for these patients.
Laurie has focused her continuing education efforts since then in pelvic floor rehabilitation for all patients. She now serves as a lab assistant for coursework through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute, where she has completed her training. She enjoys educating therapists and other healthcare professionals starting their pelvic rehab training. Laurie has also been working on achieving her certification as a dry needling provider. She has found that this service, combined with other physical therapy techniques, is very effective in treating various pain disorders and muscle dysfunctions. She looks forward to preparing to complete her exams for dry needling and the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification in the next year. In her free time, Laurie also enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter, and their two small dogs. To request an appointment, please call 312.694.7337. |
