Janelle Howell, PT, DPT, WCS
Janelle received her Bachelor of Science from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy, while serving as the Allied Health Club Vice President for the university. She graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, in 2015. Thereafter, she practiced in outpatient orthopedics for the next two years as a traveling physical therapist before transitioning to women’s health.
In 2018, Janelle began her career in pelvic health physical therapy at the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, California—focusing her treatment on urinary urgency, frequency, and urinary incontinence. She then was accepted into the Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in January 2019. Janelle received her ABPTS Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy in March 2020. She is thrilled to continue developing her skills and passion in treating the female pelvic population and particularly enjoys specializing in urinary incontinence, dyspareunia, and bladder pain. Janelle’s other interests include women’s empowerment through public speaking and leading a travel mentorship program that seeks to provide education and career advice to young women of color through worldwide travel and personal development activities.
